How to reach your goals?

Changing your life is not easy and it never feels like it’s the right time. How do we take action and start reaching those goals?

Think about what it is that you want. Personally, I want to become an entrepreneur, I want to find a good balance, I want to lose a bit of weight… Wanting all those things, doesn’t mean you will make a change.

Getting what you want is simple. We live in the most amazing moment of time. You want lose weight? You can start today. You can google it, you can read books about it, you can listen to podcasts about it… Somebody else is already doing what you want to do so you can just follow their footsteps.

Something else to think about: what do you answer when someone asks you how you are? ‘Fine’? Why do we always tell people we are ‘fine’? Why don’t we just say what we are feeling? The biggest issue is that we are convincing ourselves that we are fine. That is why we are not changing anything. We tell ourselves we are fine because we ‘can not change’. ‘I can not lose weight because I am too busy with school’. You have life changing ideas that can change the way you are feeling, that can change the world… but you never change.

What is the first decision you made this morning? To keep lying in bed? I get it. It’s warm, you can cuddle with your boyfriend…

You are never going to feel like changing. You will always want to keep being comfortable. Do you think that people who want to lose weight ever feel like going on a diet? Do you think they love switching their donuts for some oats?
When you become older, no one tells you it’s going to be your job to be parenting yourself. It’s your choice to become whatever you want to be. No one is going to tell you, you need to get up, you need to stop snoozing, you need to start studying, you need to start eating healthy, you need to start working out… You will never feel like changing but that doesn’t mean you don’t want to. Even if you’re good at something, you will still want to try something new.

You have to force yourself to change. Your brain will always want to go on auto-pilot and not on decision-maker. You will get bored of your routine. You get up at the same time, you go to school at the same time, you start studying, you will eat your usual meals… When you feel stuck or dissatisfied in life, it’s a signal. It’s not a signal that your life is broken, it’s a signal that you need to grow and explore. The only way you can do this, is to force yourself to get outside, get out of your head…

Your thoughts are holding you back so often. They will tell you that you will fail, that you are not good enough, that you will never be able to change… You would never hang out with people that talk to you the way you talk about yourself. Your feelings will screw you over but you will have to do what you want. Not what you feel like. You need to get outside of your comfort zone. The first weeks you will start working out and eating healthy will be hard af but after some time, it will become a habit.

Your problem isn’t your ideas, your problem is you don’t act on them. It’s not going to happen in your head. You need to take action and you need to do it as soon as possible. You don’t want to be wasting time by not taking action. You want to lose weight? Well, start going to the gym and eating healthy NOW. The right time will never come. You will have to just do it.

I see a lot of people wanting to lose weight but they are using all these excuses like ‘I don’t have time’ or ‘I don’t know what I should do in the gym’. That is just BS. Stop worrying and start doing. No one knows what to do in the beginning. Do you think I started going to the gym knowing exactly what to do? Do you think I was born knowing what foods I should be eating to be healthy? Do you think I ‘had time’? Nope. I had to prioritize going to the gym, use trial and error and I had to educate myself. The beginning is never easy but you get past it and eventually, it will become a habit.

Truth is, it will never be ‘the right time to start’. So why don’t you just start now?
